Whether it’s a notebook or desktop unit, there’s probably a computer in nearly every household. PC’s have become essential equipment in our daily life. We use them at the office, in college, for play and even more. Because of the computer’s prominence in our life, keeping it in peak operating capacity is paramount. But with daily use, our PCs tend to slow down and can even stop working. The degredation in performance over time can be for several reasons.

The registry keeps the software and hardware values for everything in the PC and everything connected to it. After awhile, orphaned entries aggregate in the registry. The registry needs to be cleaned so it can better perform its job. Lots ofregistry cleaners that are available say they will clear up your registry and make it run better, but, many make false claims and could cause your computer and installed software and components connect to it to stop running. Having a high-quality registry cleaner is essential to keep your PC’s performance at it’s peak.

Also, spyware and viruses may lbe loading down your PC’s performance. As you cruise the web, accessing your email, downloading stuff, probably you will get viruses and spyware that can adversely affect the PC. But accessing the internet is the key aspect of our PC useage, so simply keeping away from the web isn’t possible. To thwart viruses and spyware, scanning software should be monitoring your computer when it is running.

These spyware/virus scanner will clean and delete all these harmful viruses that could cause havoc to your computer’s entire performance. Do not settle for any substandard anti-spyware as this won’t help you in increasing your computer’s speed. What you need is a good quality antivirus that can do great wonders in your PC. This computer trouble must be immediately solved as this could not only slow PC XP but also put your computer to a complete halt.

Lastly, your PC likely needs more RAM. RAM is the key hardware component that helps PCs run more reliably and faster. typically, The basic computer with the XP operating system (OS) came with 256MB of RAM and Vista 1GB. These operating systems need double those amounts to run halfway efficiently.

A computer with a Windows XP operating system can usually run with a 512 MB of memory. But if your computer is equipped with many programs and applications, it needs twice as much as RAM in order to perform faster.

There even many more reasons for a slow PC, that will make it freeze or crash. Those above are only the most frequent causes. But the three mentioned, a cluttered registry, virus infection, and not enough RAM are the biggest issues PC users have.
